Each symbol is three things: the image in the story, the part of a person it names, and the change it files in the body. Follow one across halls. Never explain the last thread.

Hands / fist / baton

Metaphor: Sit on them. Open them. A baton snapped. A fist that was early. An open palm the wolf will take from.
To the person: The part that reaches, conducts, grabs, proves, and calls it love or leadership.
How it generates change: Installs the brake (the Gap), the opening (Five Open Hands), the release (Bettina), the available palm (machine six). Hands become a place, not a tool.

Eight Days

A receipt curls in a fist like a leaf deciding not to be a flag.
Hands go under thighs the way roots go under a house.
