Key / lock / keyway
- Metaphor
- A boundary that opens. A lock is not a wall. An unused small key that is never explained.
- To the person
- The part that hears 'no' as architecture being cruel, and the part that wants every object labelled.
- How it generates change
- Refiles refusal as a keyway — something that fits, not something that exiles. The unexplained key keeps working because it is not turned into a tip.
Eight Days- A clock sweats onto lacquer and is not the match.
- A tarnished key holds up a hall.
- Warmth is a key. Honour is a key. Relief is a key. The door is already the door.
- A block is a sentence in the only grammar that could not be reinterpreted.
